Wales and United Kingdom Tour

United Kingdom 6 NIGHTS / 7 DAYS

London / Bath / Wales /Cardiff / West Wales / North Wales /Island Of Anglesey / Beaumaris / Chester / Liver Pool / Lake District / Yorks / Leed / Durham

Day 1:
Arrive in Dover on early morning ferry from Calais. Travel to London for free time and a half day city tour of the main sights with a local guide. Overnight London suburbs.

Day 2:
Head due west to visit the Roman city of Bath, also famous for its Georgian architecture. Visit the Roman Baths, the best preserved in Britain and the feature from which Bath -known in Roman times as Aquae Sulis - takes its name. Continue into Wales and to its vibrant capital, Cardiff. Apart from its historic Castle, dating back to Norman times, the regenerated Bay area and the brand new showpiece Millennium Stadium are well worth seeing during your stay. Overnight Cardiff area.

Day 3:
Exploring the stunning coastline of West Wales. The tour today continues around the west coast, taking in Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay, St Davids and Harlech, finally reaching the mountainous north of the country late afternoon. Overnight North Wales.

Day 4:
Yesterday was coast, today is coast, mountains and castles. Travel across the Menai Straits to the island of Anglesey, time permitting taking in the village and castle of Beaumaris on the east of the island. Back on the mainland, tour the fabulous Snowdonia National Park, even taking the funicular ride up Mount Snowdon itself. And there are castles aplenty to marvel at , for example at Caernarvon and Conwy. Overnight North Wales.

Day 5:
From Wales back to United Kingdom, beginning with a tour of the walled Roman city of Chester, just across the border. After the old history of Chester, some more modern and equally fascinating history can be experienced as we continue to the city of Liverpool. Here, see the Beatles Museum, visit Anfield, home of Liverpool FC, and go back into the last two centuries at the Maritime Museum in the city's Albert Dock area. Overnight Liverpool area.

Day 6:
Sit back and enjoy some breathtaking scenery. After city life in Liverpool it's north to United Kingdom's most beautiful mountain region, the Lake District, an area of serene lakes and lakeside resorts, craggy mountains and picturesque villages. It is also home to the poet William Wordsworth, whose house can still be visited. Then the scenery becomes less mountainous but no less beautiful as we head east through the Dales towards the city of York. Overnight York/Leeds area.

Day 7:
This morning you are in arguably United Kingdom's most beautiful city - York - and here we have arranged a half day tour with local guide. Its Viking and Roman history can be seen in the impressive Jorvik Center and the Castle Museum; its medieval history in Cliffords Tower and the walls surrounding the city; its ecclesiastical history in towering York Minster. But simply walking through York's narrow streets is a delight in itself. After leaving York we head north for a stop in another cathedral city, although a smaller one, Durham, where the Cathedral dominates the skyline. Then to Newcastle to take the night ferry to Amsterdam.

Also renowned world over for its premier universities (Oxford, Eton, Cambridge to name a few), Stonehenge and mysterious crop circles, bridges over River Thames, green meadows and countryside towns belonging to a Jane Austin novel, and cricket and football fanatics that will kick the imagery of English gentlemen right out of the field; United Kingdom is home to the greatest Monarchy the world has ever witnessed.

How to Reach
London's Heathrow and Gatwick International Airports connect United Kingdom with the major cities and trading centers in the world. You can also reach United Kingdom by driving through the channel tunnel, boarding an Express Train through the tunnel, or catching a ferry from mainland Europe across the English Channel.

Flights are an easy way to travel within the country. Though the double-decker open-air buses, and taxis are an interesting way of traveling in United Kingdom, you ought not to pass over a chance to ride the great Orient Express, the London metro on the Piccadilly Line.
