Day 1:
Either arrive in Dover on early morning ferry from Calais (coach arrivals) or into Heathrow airport (air arrivals). Transfer to London for half day city tour with local guide (air arrivals en route from airport). Overnight London suburbs (coach groups); central London (air groups).
Day 2:
Visit two of UK's most historic and famous towns: first Windsor, with its Castle and royal connections, then Oxford, characterized by its colleges and skyline of spires and steeples. Visit one of the colleges to see how the students live. Continue to Coventry/Birmingham area for overnight.
Day 3:
Touring the historic heart of United Kingdom. Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace and home of William Shakespeare, and his house can still be visited in the centre of the town; the local church contains his grave and time permitting the house of Mary Arden, his mother, is well worth viewing. The river with its pleasure boats is a colourful focal point of the town in summer. From Stratford, travel the short distance to Warwick to see Britain's best preserved medieval castle, Warwick Castle. The Kingmaker's House, the dungeon, the gardens and the fascinating display of weaponry are just some of the highlights of a visit to the Castle. Overnight Coventry/Birmingham area.
Day 4:
A leisurely day taking in the sights of that other famous University town, Cambridge. Less bustling than Oxford, it is no less interesting and once again offers a chance to see some of the magnificent colleges. In the summer, go 'punting' on the peaceful River Cam. Then it's on to London for free time in the capital. Overnight London suburbs (coach groups) or in central London (air groups).
Day 5:
Free in London - or coach groups may prefer to tour the south coast resorts of Brighton and Hastings (with its 1066 Norman conquest associations) before making their way to Dover for the return ferry to Calais. Air groups - transfer to Heathrow airport for return flight.
