Guneeta and myself went to Udaipur 30/31st march to witness the Gangaur festival. It was an amazing experience and we must promote this festival for one night in Udaipur on the main day. It normally falls during end March or first week April. This festival is celebrated across Rajasthan but it is most beautiful in Udaipur. In brief, this is primarily a festival for the ladies, who are dressed in most beautiful vibrant colors and perform some Puja at the Gangaur ghat for the wellness for their husbands. Unmarried girls perform so they can get good husbands etc.
First there is a dance celebration at Jagdish chowk, from their they walk towards the Gangaur ghat and then there is Puja and celebrations etc.
