The below report of my Familiarization (FAM) tour to Jodhpur, Jawai and Udaipur:
I would like to express my gratitude to MD sir, for giving me this opportunity to go on a FAM tour to Jodhpur, Jawai & Udaipur from 06 - 11 May 2025. The overall experience was learning and informative. The trip gave me useful knowledge and learning experiences that really helped me understand these places better. Hence, I am pleased to share a “Brief Report on the Familiarization Trip" for your reference.
I reached Jodhpur at 1030 Hrs, and was received by representative of TCU who also accompanied me during my hotel visits. On arrival, I transferred to Hotel Ratan Vilas to check in. After check-in, I inspected various hotels, as detailed below.
Hotel: Ratan Vilas, Jodhpur
Location: Situated about 05 km from the airport and about 7 km from Mehrangarh Fort.
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, safety locker, writing desk, TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are equipped with rain showers, Superior categories also offer marble bathtubs.
Hotel Amenities: A multi-cuisine restaurant with a seating capacity of up to 150 guests in indoor & outdoor, swimming pool, Parking.
Remarks: Very well-maintained property with clean, comfortable rooms and a peaceful environment. The owners reside inside the property and personally interact with the guest, adding a warm, personalized touch to the overall experience.
Transportation: For this FAM trip, Three Corner United assigned an AC Toyota Rumion which was new, clean, and comfortable. They provided me with mineral water. The driver was wearing a uniform. He was well-behaved and polite.
Road conditions: The road conditions in Jodhpur and Udaipur are very good. The route from Jodhpur to Jawai is also smooth and well-maintained. However, the roads within Jawai are narrower, and the stretch from the main road to all resorts was rough and to some resorts, it was muddy. During my visit, there was heavy rainfall in Jawai, which made the roads even more uneven.
Weather: During my visit, the weather was very pleasant and not too hot. It rained almost every day, which made the air cooler and fresher. The combination of light rain and mild temperature made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
Location: Situated about 03 km from the airport and about 10 km from Mehrangarh Fort.
Total Rooms: 88 (80 Executive and Premium Room, 08 Suite Rooms) hotel have 30 plus Extra Beds.
Room Amenities: Traditional Rajasthani décor with modern amenities including Tea/Coffee maker, Safety locker, Hair Dryer, spacious bathrooms with bathtubs or shower cubicles, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 1 Multi-Cuisine Restaurant (Anghiti) with seating capacity of approx. 72 guests, 1 Bar (I Bar), Coffee Shop (Lotus Café), Outdoor Swimming Pool, Spa, Gym, Kids' Play Area, and a Gift Shop. Large Banquet Halls with lawn for weddings and corporate events.
Remarks: A good blend of royal charm and modern amenities, this a good option for weddings, corporate events. As it is located near to the airport, rooms can be slightly noisy at times. It can be considered as an alternative when accommodation within the city is unavailable.
Location: Situated about 03 km from the airport and about 06 km from Mehrangarh Fort.
Total Rooms: 27 (22 Deluxe Room, 5 Suite Room), can provide Extra Bed/Mattress in the room.
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 01 Multi-cuisine restaurant with seating capacity of 45 guest inside and 60 guest outside, swimming pool, garden area, live entertainment on Saturday & Sunday.
Remarks: Hotel needs renovation, not recommended for inbound guests.
Location: Situated about 03 km from the airport and about 06 km from Mehrangarh Fort.
Total Rooms: 12 (03 Standard, 07 Premium & 02 Suite Room), Extra Bed can be placed in 2nd category i.e. Premium room.
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, television, tea/coffee maker, Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 01 multi-cuisine restaurant with inside and outside seating, outdoor swimming pool, garden area, indoor activities.
Remarks: I had lunch in the hotel, Food was delicious, and staffs were very polite and professional. It is a boutique heritage property and can be used in 3-star category.
Here's the ranking of the Jodhpur hotels based on my observation, from best to lowest. I have also included the names of the luxury hotels in the city that were not on my list but we are already using them.
On 08 May, I drove from Jodhpur to Jawai which is approx. 150 Kms/03 Hrs. Upon arrival, I visited the following hotels. Unfortunately, due to heavy rain on 9th May morning, I was unable to go on the leopard safari.
Jawai Hotels:
1. Aaramgah Jawai resort by Radisson
Location: Situated about 14 km from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 32 (10 Villa open shower area with private temperature control Plunge pool, 22 Premium Room)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, safety locker, hairdryer, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Amruttulya restaurant with seating capacity of 85 guests inside & 25 Guests outside, Madira bar with seating capacity of 30 guests. Indoor activities free of cost, outdoor activities on chargeable basis, Spa, steam room, Sauna, Gym, Outdoor Swimming pool, Golf Cart, parking.
Remarks: A newly built luxury property that started around four months ago, spread over a large area. We can use this for high-end clients.
Location: Situated about 13 km from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 06 Tents
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, Private veranda with seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Restaurant offers Indian & local cuisine with the seating capacity of 25 guests, Swimming pool & Parking.
Remarks: I stayed in this property. Location of the property is good near to leopard safari points but this is a basic property with normal food. It is suitable for domestic clients but not recommendable for inbound clients.
Location: Situated about 19 km from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 12 (06 Paradise view with balcony, 06 Jungle view with patio)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, minibar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Restaurant with the seating capacity of 40 guests, swimming pool, Indoor game room.
Remarks: The location of the hotel is excellent, as it is very close to Jawai Bandh and Safari point. During the monsoon, the water level of the Bandh rises and can reach up to the hotel's entrance. In such cases, the hotel provides its own boats to transport guests from a designated location. The 1 km stretch of road from the village is in such poor condition after rain that our vehicle couldn’t go further. The hotel then sent a jeep to pick me up and take me to the property.
Location: Situated about 20 km from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 12 (05 Luxury tent, 02 Cottage, 05 Villa with plunge pool- 03 are ready and 02 will be ready soon)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, minibar, safety locker, Private veranda with seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 01 Restaurant with multi-cuisine dining with the seating capacity of 35 guests, swimming pool, parking.
Remarks: They have recently built five new villas, which are excellent and well-suited for inbound clients. Additionally, they are renovating the garden and surrounding areas, with plans to offer golf cart transportation for guests to reach their rooms comfortably.
Location: Situated about 20 Km from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 13 (02 Suite Room, 02 Family Suite, 09 Luxury pool Villa)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, minibar, safety locker, seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Rosettes multi-cuisine restaurant dining with the seating capacity of 30 guests, swimming pool, parking, Outdoor fireplace, Indoor gaming room, separate place for special dinners.
Remarks: It is a very nice property and suitable for high-end clients. The location is quite remote, and reaching it requires passing through a village with narrow roads. During my visit the suite rooms were occupied, so I was unable to view them.
Location: Situated about 13 Kms from Jawai Bandh Railway Station.
Total Rooms: 12 (04 luxury Room, 06 premium rooms, 02 Mud House)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, Espresso coffee machine, TV, Private Verandah or Jacuzzi (as per room type), mini Bar and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Restaurant with seating capacity of 30 guests, swimming pool, parking, gaming zone, lawn, can arrange special dinners.
Remarks: This is a newly built property, which became operational around two months ago, can be considered a 4-star option for our clients. They also have plans to add more rooms and introduce golf cart facilities in the near future.
Was also in my list, however, I was informed that they suspended operations annually from 15th April to 30th June due to the intense summer heat.
Luxury Hotel: Sujan Jawai Camp
5 Star: Aaramgah By Radisson, J Wild by Maya Luxury
4 Star: Amritara Jawai Resort, Jawai Palash Resort, Jawai Bera Leopard Camp
3 Star: Dera Jawai
Location: Situated about 28 km from the airport and about 5.5 km from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 63 (Superior, Premium, Deluxe, Suite) 06 Proper twin rooms
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, mini bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Sabor multi-cuisine Restaurant with seating capacity of 100 guests including inside & outside, AIR bar, swimming pool, parking, Gym, Spa, Indoor games, Lawn with Big Conference hall, Growing organic vegetables at the back side of the hotel area.
Remarks: Nice property and can be used in 4 star category. During my morning visit, I found their restaurant offering a wide variety of food options. They are also adding more rooms in the property.
Location: Situated about 24 km from the airport and about 06 km from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 27 (13 Deluxe Room, 11 Deluxe lake facing room, 03 lake facing room with balcony)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, mini bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Raj Bagh restaurant multi cuisine Restaurant with seating capacity of 80 offering both indoor and outdoor dining options, Spa.
Remarks: A Heritage property, the highlight of the hotel is its restaurant that offers panoramic views of Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aravalli ranges. This restaurant is not located within the main hotel building and requires crossing a road to access it. It is a suitable option for the 3-star category and can be considered for our clients.
Location: Situated near to the Lake Pichola and about 25 km from the airport.
Total Rooms: 64 (Deluxe Room, Premier Room, City/Garden Suite, Lake suite, Udai Suite)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, mini bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 02 restaurants – 01 for breakfast & 01 for Lunch & Dinner rooftop multi cuisine restaurant with view of Lake Pichola, Spa & wellness, Gym, boat ride on Lake Pichola on additional cost, Rooftop Swimming pool.
Remarks: Hotel offer a blend of heritage charm with modern amenities. As it is a heritage property, all rooms in sizes, décor within the same category may differ as well. The renovation work is currently in progress, and certain areas were temporarily unavailable during my visit.
Location: Situated on Lake Pichola and about 24 Kms from Udaipur Airport.
Total Rooms: 27 (Standard Room, Haveli Room, Heritage Lake Room, Jagat Suite Non Lake View, Jagat Suite lake View, Presidential Suite)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, TV, mini bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 02 Restaurant- 01 is Jharokha and other is rooftop restaurant Chandani with the view of Lake Pichola, rooftop plunge pool, spa, library, boat ride on Lake Pichola on additional cost, Gym, Bar, Library.
Remarks: Very beautiful heritage property with prime location offering panoramic views of Lake Pichola. The USP of the hotel is its location & rooftop restaurant. There is no parking facility at the property. Pay and park facilities are available near to the hotel and the staff will guide over the phone to these locations. At the time of check-in & check-out, complimentary pick-up / drop-off service is available by auto-rickshaw and by boat.
Location: Situated on Lake Pichola and about 24 Kms from Udaipur Airport.
Total Rooms: 16 (Partial Lake View, Deluxe lake Front, Deluxe Lake Front Suite)
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, seating area and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 01 rooftop restaurant with the view of Lake Pichola, Library.
Remarks: It is a family run heritage property and rooms are different from each other. There is no TV in the rooms. Vehicles cannot go to the property. Clients need to go by Rickshaw to the hotel from parking. The property is going under renovation for 01 month.
Location: Situated about 23 km from the airport and about 04 km from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 52 (14 Deluxe, 06 Superior, 22 Premium lake view room, 10 superior lake view) The property does not have twin rooms but can provide a Hollywood twin setup or arrange for an extra bed in the room as needed.
Room Amenities: air-conditioning, tea/coffee maker, mini Bar, TV, complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Multi-cuisine restaurant, bar, outdoor swimming pool, conference hall, Gym, parking.
Remarks: The rooms have been recently renovated, including the installation of new beds. It’s a beautiful property featuring spacious and well-appointed rooms.
Location: Situated about 22.5 km from the airport and about 800 Mtrs from Lake Pichola and near to the city palace.
Total Rooms: 23 (10 Deluxe, 13 Superior Room)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, traditional Rajasthani décor, seating area, tea/coffee maker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: Vegetarian restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, garden courtyard, heritage stepwell inside the hotel.
Remarks: A charming heritage-style, family-run property with a peaceful atmosphere and traditional interiors. Rooms may vary in layout and décor. Well maintained property and located near to City Palace and Lake Pichola.
Location: Situated about 30 km from the airport and about 10 Kms from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 18 (05 Heritage Suite, 13 Superior room)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, seating area, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Certain rooms feature a balcony.
Hotel Amenities: 02 restaurants – 01 is inside the hotel and other is at the rooftop with swimming pool, parking.
Remarks: Khas Mahal by Fateh Collection is a newly established heritage Style property situated near to Fateh Garh. The hotel provides a blend of modern amenities and serene natural surroundings. We can use it in five star category.
Location: Situated about 30 km from the airport and about 10 Kms from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 76 (36 Renaissance room with sit out, 16 plunge pool suite, 01 Fateh Vilas suite with bath Tub, 07 Family Suite, 16 Family Plunge Pool Suite)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, mini Bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Some rooms feature a balcony or private plunge pool.
Hotel Amenities: 01 restaurant with the seating capacity of 100 guest inside and 120 outside, 02 swimming pool, spa and wellness centre, bar, gym, They also arrange zip line, vintage car ride, Jeep Safari with farm visit, Vintage car picnic (Hi tea, Sun downer), Vintage car museum, sky walk private dining on chargeable basis.
Remarks: Fateh Vilas by Fateh Collection offers a luxury heritage style property. We can use it in five star and they offer a range of different experiences for guests, available on a chargeable basis.
Location: Situated about 30 km from the airport and about 10 Kms from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 56 (27 Renaissance room, 18 Heritage Chamber, 04 Heritage Suite with balcony, 06 plunge pool Suite, 01 Fateh Garh suite with Jacuzzi)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, mini Bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Some rooms feature a balcony or private plunge pool.
Hotel Amenities: 02 outdoor swimming pools, spa and wellness centre, two multi-cuisine restaurants (Baradari and Prasadham), bar/lounge, fitness centre, library, They also arrange zip line, Archery, Shooting, vintage car ride, Suraj Gokda private dining, Jeep Safari with farm visit, Vintage car picnic (Hi tea, Sun downer) on chargeable basis.
Remarks: Very nice property with heritage charm. This property is going under renovation.

Remarks: The newly built boutique homestay offers clean and spacious rooms, making it a suitable option in the 3 star category for FIT clients. It is located near Hotel Aurika Udaipur. They also conduct cooking demo classes for in-house guests on a chargeable basis. The owners also stay inside the property and personally interact with the clients, ensuring a warm and personalized experience.
Location: Situated about 20 km from the airport and about 06 Kms from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 56 (49 Premium Rooms, 07 Suite rooms)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, mini bar, safety locker, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 01 restaurant with seating capacity of 52 Pax, Terrance bar lounge, smoke detector
Remarks: I had lunch at the hotel, food was delicious and the staff was very professional. We can use it in the 4 star category if we are not getting rooms in the city hotels.
Location: Situated about 29 km from the airport and about 09 Kms from Lake Pichola.
Total Rooms: 47 (29 Deluxe room with Balcony, 16 superior room with balcony, 02 Terrance room with sit out)
Room Amenities: Air-conditioning, TV, tea/coffee maker, mini Bar, safety locker, private balcony, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Hotel Amenities: 02 restaurants 01 for breakfast near lobby area and other is on rooftop for lunch & Dinner, 02 Swimming pools, Lawn, Spa & Wellness, Bar, parking.
Remarks: I stayed at hotel Fateh Niwas. The property is beautiful, well maintained, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, making the overall experience truly enjoyable.
Remarks: Amet Ki Haveli was also in my list but they informed me that the property is undergoing renovations from May 5th to June 30th, 2025. So, I was unable to visit the property.
07 May: I visited Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada, followed by a walk from the fort down to the old city of Jodhpur, which is a part of Blue City walk. TCU, Jodhpur arranged a guide Mr. Prabhat who was very knowledgeable and provided valuable information throughout the tour. The old city of Jodhpur which is part of the Blue city Heritage walk is not very well-maintained in terms of cleanliness. The presence of garbage on roads and streets leaves a negative impression.
09 May: I visited the Kumbhalgarh Fort and enjoyed a boat ride on Lake Pichola, Udaipur.
11 Nov: My flight departure time was 2000 Hrs, I reached the airport well before time to board flight 6E-2267 from Udaipur to Delhi Terminal 1.
