Patiala Study Trip from 14th to 16th February 2026

Overview

We undertook a short family trip and study tour to Patiala to experience Ran Baas Palace, The Park Hotels.

Drive from Delhi was comfortable (~5 hours) with a stop at Savoy Greens, Karnal.

Destination Insight – Patiala

  • Heritage city with strong royal and Sikh cultural influence.
  • Sightseeing includes Qila Mubarak, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Bagh Palace
  • Also Known for  Punjabi Juttis, Punjabi suits, and local crafts
  • Works well as a short cultural getaway (2 nights)

We stayed at this Property owned by The Park Hotels. The stay was extremely comfortable and the professional team looked after us very well.

  • Suitable for cars / small vehicles
  • Coaches require off-site parking + transfers. The hotel will arrange this.

Local Experiences

  • Visit to Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib – very peaceful
  • Local bazaars ideal for juttis, Punjabi suits, and shopping

Other Hotels

Hotel Baradari by Neemrana: Colonial style spread out heritage property (~19 rooms), Mixed categories, Single rooms are also decent, Bathrooms are old and don’t have shower curtains and the tubs etc. Rooms dated, basic facilities, no pool, Restaurant, Gym and the Bar were ok. Overall 3-star heritage level.

Hotel Eqbal Inn: Standard 3-star hotel. Basic rooms, average upkeep however, the restaurant was okay and they have a pool also. Not suitable for our clients

Recommendations

Ran Baas Palace, The Park Hotels is a strong boutique luxury product

Ideal for:

  • Short breaks
  • Experiential travellers

Patiala can now be effectively included in inbound itineraries, combined with:

  • Chandigarh
  • Amritsar
  • Anandpur Sahib

This circuit should be actively promoted as a cultural and heritage itinerary in Punjab

  • A very positive and insightful trip.
  • Ran Baas Palace stands out as a high-quality heritage experience, and Patiala has strong potential to be integrated into premium inbound circuits.
