Tourist Attractions in Korea There are numerous South Korea attractions which add to the revenue of the country. The capital city of Seoul is known for its palace, temples dating back to centuries, pleasure gardens and pagodas. Seoul also boasts of a well developed transport network, cheap lodging facilities and cultural hot spots. These have led to the greater inflow of tourists in the city.

Gyeongbokgung Palace ranks among the best known palaces. It was built in the initial stages of the Joseon dynasty, although most of the 500 buildings of the palace ground were destroyed due to Japanese invasion. After reconstruction in the late 19th Century, the palace was ruined again during the Korean War. However, the palace and the ground have been restored fully again. The National Folk Museum which is located in the palace grounds rank among the other tourist attractions in South Korea. It brings to light the lifestyle of the ordinary Korean communities. Another well known attraction is the Changgyeonggung Palace, which was built in 1104. It once used to be the summer palace of the rulers and was later made into a park by the Japanese. Nevertheless, there are still a number of relics of Goryeo dynasty like botanical garden, astronomical equipments, and stone bridges and so on.
