Changdeok Palace and Biwon Garden
Listed among the World Heritage Sites, Biwon Garden was used as a palace backyard and served as the relaxing and entertaining place of the kings and other members of the royal family. The construction of Changdeok Palace started in the year 1405 and later in 1463; the palace was expanded by King Sejo who also made the Biwon (secret) Garden.
Changgveong Palace
The Changgveong Palace was originally constructed in the year 1104 and served as a summer palace for the emperors of the Koryo Dynasty. The palace was burned in the year 1592 and was later rebuilt.
Deoksu Palace
The palace is located in the downtown area of Seoul in the street from City Hall. It is situated amidst scenic surroundings and is a favorite spot for wedding photographers and couples who come to this area in the weekends to spend some time in peace.
Gyeongbok Palace
The palace is spread over an area of 419,100 square meters and was built at the initial stages of the Joseon Dynasty. It consists of splendid pavilions, halls, storerooms, offices, gates and bridges.
Hangang Park
Located by the banks of the Han River, Hangang Park is a great place to enjoy, explore and relax amidst scenic surroundings.
Jongmyo Shrine and Gardens
The royal family, according to the Confucian tradition, was able to perform detailed rituals five times yearly in the shrine as a mark of respect to their royal ancestors. The tradition is still in vogue today. However, the Jongmyo Daeje (Royal Shrine Ritual) is held only once in a year in May.
