Monuments of Madrid

(Palacio Real, Boulevards, Museo del Prado)

Palacio Real

The Palacio Real or the Royal Palace is the largest palace of Europe. Its actual name is the Palacio Oriente, but it is strangely not referred to by that name. The Royal Palace, owned by the Spanish King was made on the ruins of a former place that was earlier used by the Kings and Queen of Spain. The palace is a massive structure with 2,800 rooms, 270 balconies, 110 main doors, 870 windows, 44 staircases and one banquet hall with a table to accommodate 140 people. A tour around the magnificent Palacio Real is something you should never miss if you visit Madrid.

Madrid boulevards

The heart of the city of Madrid is full of exotic boulevards that are a major attraction for the thousands of tourists who visit Madrid every year. Locally known as paseos, the boulevards run from north to south and are known as the spine of the city. Toward east you can see the great Parque del Retiro or Retiro Park. On the west is an old quarter. The most attractive is the square surrounded by Gran Vía in the north side. Towards the south are the magnificent Rondas that would surely add up to a great day out in Madrid.

Museo del Prado

There is no doubt about it that Museo del Prado is one of the most excellent museums in the world since 1819, when it was first opened. It is also counted as one of the world's first public art galleries. Located on the Paseo del Prado, the most attractive area of Madrid, the Museo del Prado is truly a treat to the eyes. Museo del Prado has a big collection of over 9000 works most of which are paintings. The museum displays art works on a rotatory basis for those who are not permanent. Touring Museo del Prado would be an exciting part of your travel to Madrid that you would always remember for a lifetime.

The golden beaches of Andalucia offer the best of nature, fun and relaxation to tourists. There are excellent possibilities for many different sports, such as surfing at the Cadiz coast. Kilometers of yellow sand beaches and natural beautiful ports make the beaches a great attraction in Andalucia.
