Dunedin lies on the southeastern shores of New Zealand. The Bracken's View in Lovelock Avenue was set up in honor of the poet Thomas Bracken, who composed New Zealand's national anthem. The Mount Cargill provides a three-peaked backdrop to the city, and two excellent walkways to the summit provide the trekking enthusiast to climb to the summit and take in the view of almost half of Otago Peninsula. You can also visit New Zealand's famous Speight Brewery, which was first established in 1876.
Book lovers can pick up some old books at the large bookshops dotting the Otago Peninsula. The promenade along the peninsula has many quaint shops where the avid shopper can pick up quite a bargain.
