Day 1 Arrival Kochi (Cochin)

Day 2 Kochi

After breakfast today sightseeing tour to explore the many fascinating highlights of Cochin which include – The Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew Town, St. Francis Church which is the oldest European Church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese and the Dutch Palace. The main highlight of the day will however be a visit to the Spice markets of Cochin. Witness firsthand how spice trading is done and how the traders still use an old secret hand language to arrive at the final deal. Visit the Mattancherry spice godowns where the open spaces between the godowns were used to dry and pack various spices including coriander, pepper and ginger amongst others.

Optional activities:

• Afternoon cookery lessons at the local home belong to the traditional community in Kerala. This activity will be instructed by professional cookery instructor. This will offer you an opportunity to participate in and learn how traditional spices are used in the typical Travancore vegetarian food. Overnight stay at Hotel.

• Kathakali dance show

• Sunset cruise through the waters of Cochin.

Day 3 Kochi – Kothamangalam (58Kms / 1 ½ Hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Kothamangalam. On arrival, check-in at home stay. Later visit Local Churches, temples, view Rubber tapping and processing in the Mundackal estate, fruits and vegetable garden and later experience the Indian cookery With professional Cooke. Overnight at home stay

Day 4 Kothamangalam – Munnar (90 Kms / 2 Hrs)

After breakfast visit plantations and take a short trek to the local village to interact with the local people. Later drive to Munnar. On arrival, check-in at resort. Overnight at Resort

Optional activities:
• Visit of a tea museum

• Take a short trip to the Eravikulam National Park (home to the endangered Nilgiri Thar mountain goat amongst others)

Day 5 Munnar – Chinnar (50 Kms / 2 Hrs)

After breakfast drive to Chinnar wild life sanctuary. On arrival, check-in at resort. Later trek inside the sanctuary and stay overnight in camp

Day 6 Chinnar – Periyar (Thekkady) (160 Kms / 4 Hrs)

After breakfast, transfer to Periyar. Check in at the Resort. Day is free for leisure. Overnight stay at Resort

Day 7 Periyar

Morning 0700 hrs proceed to the boat landing and proceed for the Bamboo Rafting, a dawn to dusk trekking program through the forest for a close encounter with the Wildlife. Overnight at Resort

Day 8 Periyar – Kanam (70 Kms / 2 Hrs)

After breakfast, transfer to Kanam (Optional) en-route visit Connemara Tea factory and check in at Kanam Estate. Afternoon spend a day with The Elephant. Overnight at Kanam Estate

Day 9 Kanam – Alapuzzha (Alleppey) (House Boat) (70Kms / 2 Hrs approx)

After breakfast, transfer to Alappuzha and board traditional houseboat at 12:00 noon for overnight cruise within Alappuzha backwaters. The boat will take you toward the local markets. Overnight in houseboat

Day 10 Alapuzzha – Olavipe (30Kms / 1 Hrs Approx)

After breakfast disembark from houseboat at 0900 hrs and transfer to Olavipe. On arrival, check-in at Olavipe Homestay on the backwaters. Rest of the day free for village activities. Overnight at home stay.

Day 11 Olavipe

Free at leisure for village activities like fishing, Farm visit, and country boat ride. Overnight at home stay

Optional activities: -Take a bicycle tour of the villages nearby.
Spend time around the farm. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. There are goats, cows, rabbits, ducks, chicken and emus.

Day 12 Olavipe – Kochi (Cochin) Airport (55 Kms / 2 Hrs Approx) – Depart

After breakfast check-out from the hotel & transfer to Kochi airport to catch your return flight for onward journey
