Baisakhi Program 2018

Baisakhi is one of the most popular festivals celebrated in the vibrant state of Punjab to mark the harvest of Rabi crops. The festival of Baisakhi also has tremendous religious significance for the predominant Sikh population of the state as it is was on a Baisakhi Day in 1699 that Guru Gobind Singh – the revered Tenth Guru of Sikhs laid the foundation of Khalsa Panth.

Festival of Baisakhi is usually celebrated on April 13, but once in every 36 years the festival is celebrated on April 14. Joyful people of Punjab celebrate Baisakhi with exuberance and gaiety. Highpoint of Baisakhi celebrations is the performance of the traditional Bhangra and Gidda dance and the special langar served at Gurudwara.

Day 1 | Tue, Apr 10, 2018| Arrive Delhi

Upon arrival in Delhi you will be met and assisted by our company representative at airport. After traditional welcome at airport transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 | Wed, Apr 11, 2018| Delhi (Sightseeing of Delhi)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later explore the sights and sounds of the city. Visit the monuments that exhibit Mughal heritage like the Red Fort (from outside) and Jama Masjid. Also enjoy the rickshaw ride in narrow streets of Chandni Chowk. Later visit New Delhi and drive past the India Gate, President House & other government buildings. Also visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 | Thu, Apr 12, 2018| Delhi – Chandigarh(Train to Chandigarh)

Early morning transfer to railway station to board your train Kalka Shatabdi (Dep 0740/Arr 1105 Hrs) to Chandigarh. Upon arrival in Chandigarh transfer to your hotel and get some rest. Later in the afternoon start half day city tour of Chandigarh and visit the famous Rock Garden of Chandigarh followed by scenic Sukhna Lake excursion. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4 | Fri, Apr 13, 2018|Chandigarh – Anandpur Sahib – Chandigarh (Excursion to Anandpur Sahib (95 Kms one way) / 2 hrs)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later take excursion to Anandpur Sahib, is one of the most important sacred places of the Sikhs and is closely linked with their religious traditions and history. The ninth Guru, Guru Teg Bahadur founded Anandpur Sahib in 1665, near the ruins of ancient Makhowa. Witness the Baisakhi festival. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 | Sat, Apr 14, 2018| Chandigarh – Amritsar (Drive to Amritsar is 230 Kms & takes 5 Hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to Amritsar. Upon arrival in Amritsar check into your hotel. Evening is free to explore some renowned local restaurant like Bhrawan da Dhaba, Kesar da Dhaba, Surjeet Makkhan Fish & Chicken center, to try out the Amritsari Kulcha (Indian flatbread stuffed with boiled potatoes & onions), Amritsari Fish fried and Lassi (A healthy & refreshing drink made by blending yogurt with water & sugar). Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 | Sun, Apr 15, 2018| Amritsar (Sightseeing of Amritsar)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later visit to the revered Golden Temple and Jalianwala Bagh followed by the sacred visit to Durgiana Mandir. Afternoon Tour of Wagha Border to witness the famous beating the retreat ceremony at Indo-Pak. Return to city by late evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 | Mon, Apr 16, 2018| Amritsar – Gurdaspur (Drive to Gurdaspur is 75 Kms & takes 1.5 Hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to Gurdaspur. Upon arrival in Gurdaspur check into a Farmhouse to experience the rural Indian life. You may choose to go for village ride on tractor, milking the cow/buffalo, picking the eggs, plucking fruits/vegetables, sowing / harvesting / weeding etc. evening is free at leisure. Overnight at farm house.

Day8 | Tue, Apr 17, 2018| Gurdaspur – Dharamsala (Drive to Dharamsala is 130 Kms & takes 4 Hrs)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to Dharamsala. Upon arrival in Dharamsala check into your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel

Day9 |Wed, Apr 18, 2018|Dharamsala (Sightseeing of Dharamsala)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later start sightseeing of Udaipur. Visit the topmost attractions housed here including the Saheliyon ki Bari, the Jagdish Temple, and the City Palace & museum. The City Palace complex in itself houses a number of attractions in its bosom. The Mor Chowk (peacock courtyard), the Fateh Prakash Palace, the Shiv Niwas Palace, and the Shambhu Niwas are a few to name in the order. In the evening you can enjoy a sunset cruise in the Pichola. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day10 | Thu, Apr 19, 2018|Dharamsala ( Free day)

Morning breakfast at hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore the town on your own and interact with local people or may be try out some local delicacies. Overnight at hotel.

Day11 |Fri, Apr 20, 2018| Dharamsala – Shimla (Drive from Kullu is 240 Kms & takes 7 Hrs)

Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to Shimla. Upon arrival in Shimla check into your hotel.
The former summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla has been blessed with all the natural bounties which one can think of. It has got a scenic location, it is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks. The spectacular cool hills accompanied by the structures made during the colonial era creates an aura which is very different from other hill. The Prime Attractions are Viceregal Lodge, Botanical Gardens,The Mall, Himachal State Museum & Library. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day12 | Sat, Apr 21, 2018|Shimla (Sightseeing of Shimla)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day13 | Sun, Apr 22, 2018| Shimla (Free day)


Morning breakfast at hotel. Full day is free at leisure and to explore the local market own your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day14 | Mon, Apr 23, 2018| Shimla – Kalka – Delhi (Drive to Kalka is 90 Kms & takes 4 Hrs & train to Delhi)


Morning after early breakfast check out at hotel and drive to Kalka railway station to board your train Kalka Shatabdi (Dep 1745/Arr 2155 Hrs) to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day15 | Tue, Apr 24, 2018| Delhi – Departure


Morning breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to airport to board your flight to your onward destination
