Located in the central Asia, Kazakhstan occupies an area of 2.7 million square kilometers. It is the ninth largest country in the world. Also, it is the largest landlocked country in the world and twice as compared to the size of four Central Asian states. It is enclosed by Russia (North), Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (South), Caspian Sea and Russia (West) and China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (East). The country has a coastline of about 1,894 km of the Caspian Sea. Most of the part of Kazakhstan is located in Asia. But a small part of the country is located in Eastern Europe.

Languages: Kazakh and Russian are spoken by the local population; English is usually used by staff of major tourism companies and hotels.
Currency: the national currency is Tenge (KZT); US Dollars, Euro and other currencies can be easily exchanged in banks and exchange bureaus.
